The London Borough of Islington is less than 50 years old. It came into being in 1965 as part of a London-wide reorganisation, but Islington's history is one of the oldest in London and is even mentioned in the Domesday Book of the 11th century and was once described as a savage place, "full of the lairs of wild beasts".
Well we haven't spotted any wild beasts lately and indeed today Islington is an
upscale cosmopolitan area full of lively bistros, excellent
restaurants and fascinating shops. Well-known for its' antique
markets, but also for its' streets of Georgian town houses and
squares including a number of Grade II listed buildings, there is
always something of interest for everybody.
So if you have the time to enjoy lunch either before or after your appointment and perhaps even some retail therapy too, then you could find no better place than right here in Islington.
